The Anti-Inflammatory 30-Day Reset

Last evening, I decided to follow a nudge and join a brilliant conversation with Sophie Richards, author of The Anti-Inflammatory 30-Day Reset. I loved how real and grounded the talk was, and of course, I came home with a signed copy of her book! I walked out thinking this is exactly what I witness in coaching, just with different language. Here are 5 useful reminders I’m taking with me: 1. Inflammation isn’t the enemy, it’s protection. It’s your body’s emergency response system. The real issue is when it’s always on… and never gets to switch off. In coaching:, many leaders don’t need to do more. They need to create space to come back to themselves. 2. It’s never just one thing. It’s the whole system. Food • Gut • Detox • Sleep • Stress • Movement These pillars don’t work in isolation. They work as an interconnected system. It also made me pause on my own focus areas right now: food, sleep, detox, movement, gut, and stress. In coaching, consistency isn’t a habit problem – it’s an ecosystem problem. 3. Stress affects the body like sugar does. Even without eating, stress can spike blood sugar and trigger inflammation. In coaching, high performers can “do everything right” and still feel depleted. 4. Small habits across pillars beat extreme approaches. No all-or-nothing. No perfection. Just sustainable rhythm. In coaching, progress sticks when it’s realistic and repeatable. 5. Knowledge isn’t transformation. Action is. “Nothing changes if nothing changes.” (my favourite line!) In coaching, insight is beautiful… but embodiment is the breakthrough. Highly recommend following Sophie Richards for simple, actionable guidance on anti-inflammatory living. Which of these 5 reminders lands most for you right now? I said YES to Playing Big Again

I said yes to Playing Big – for the second time. I’m delighted to share that I’ve completed the Playing Big Facilitators Training (again!) with Tara Mohr But this time, it wasn’t about learning something new. It was about returning to something timeless. A body of work that changed me the first time and deepened me the second. Because some work doesn’t age. It meets you differently depending on the season of your life. And it reminds you, again and again, of what you’re here for. This time, I didn’t show up looking for tools. I showed up listening for truth. And what echoed most loudly was this: What changed? I stopped performing and started listening. I allowed space for my Inner Mentor instead of letting the Inner Critic take over. I held others in their greatness without rescuing or fixing. I designed with intention, not perfection. I found my way back to simplicity, stillness, and truth What stayed the same? My unwavering belief that Playing Big isn’t about visibility – it’s about authenticity. That being more loyal to our dreams than our fears is a quiet revolution. That when we play big, we make it safer for others to do the same And this journey was amplified by the extraordinary Shemantrans who walked it with me. I’m now weaving this work more intentionally into my coaching and leadership journeys. If you’re a woman navigating big questions, bold choices, or invisible barriers – I see you. And I’d be honored to walk beside you. I’ll leave you with this question – one that I keep asking myself, again and again: What are you being loyal to – your dreams or your fears? Because your answer shapes everything. Farah IsmailI am a courage catalyst, executive coach, facilitator, speaker and founder of Interact Consulting.  www.coachfarah.com

Creating timeless moments

🔸Question: ‘Do you know how old I will be by the time I learn to play the piano?’ 🔹Answer: ‘The same age you will be if you don’t.’ When I read this in #theartistsway, I remembered having similar questions when I was considering joining a group of women from across the world to learn Playback Theatre!! I got started with Playback Theatre 4 weeks ago, I was indeed older than a few in the cohort but I also discovered that I had a creative hunger and a strong learning curve. I started wondering how long will it take for me to learn Playback theater? Frankly I don’t know. What I do know is that these moments are #timeless. I feel comfortable to be a #beginner and to let myself take the small steps forward. What about you? Have you ever told yourself that you are too old or too young to allow yourself to pursue your #dreams? To begin something new? I’ve learned a few simple things along the way to turn dreams into reality 1. Decide it’s YOUR time. Because TODAY matters! 2. Start from the very beginning, with the first small step… 3. Believe in yourself! What is a timeless moment that you have experienced lately? Be a Possibilitarian

My word this week is #Possibilitarian Pos·si·bil·i·tar·i·an: Someone who recognizes and creates new possibilities! ~ Norman Vincent Peale I honestly believe I get to work with the best clients. AK is in my 6 months 1:1 #Coaching Program and it has been an honor to be part of her #leadership journey. When she started working with me, she held the #belief that whatever she starts, she starts with a powerful intent but then she loses the momentum and energy around it and it is very frustrating! She noticed a pattern of thinking: “I don’t believe I can do this. I don’t believe I can be consistent. How do I make my dreams and goals a reality? Is it even possible?” She didn’t have the #confidence and #courage to take the next step in her leadership journey and was sabotaging her success by focusing on lack and self-doubt. Her SHIFT: Her #mindset. She started with a #commitment to not stay where she is, to see #possibilities and be willing to disrupt the status quo. She embraced a new identity – ‘I am a possibilitarian’ and believes that she can do just about anything she sets her mind to doing. She has learnt to be kind to herself! Her RESULTS: A well deserved promotion and many other firsts that gave her immense fulfilment! First ever presentation to company CEO, First talk on youtube on a topic close to her heart, building inclusivity in her team interactions, to name a few. The shift from being Frustrated to Fulfilled isn’t easy but it is possible! What about you? Are you a possibilitarian?
